How Mio Works

Mio makes native cross-platform messaging possible in three core steps.

Team authorization

The IT administrator grants Mio's access and permissions for each team chat account.

Channel and user mapping

Mio joins all public channels within each team, obtains user tokens, and maps primary accounts to linked accounts.

Message routing and translation

As users send messages, Mio receives them as API events, immediately translating them for the recipient's platform and posting on behalf of the sender's linked account.

Direct messaging

Mio routes DMs to and from each user's preferred messaging application.

Public channels and spaces

Mio's service user account sits within all channels and spaces to enable conversation and directory syncing.

Calling

Mio enables native cross-platform calling across Slack and Webex Teams by providing a common SIP address.
