Learn how to connect Mio with Google Workspace and Microsoft Teams to enable cross-platform messaging, sync channels, and manage user accounts.
Hi everyone, welcome back to Mio Academy. I'm Jacob, and in this lesson, we'll be diving into the Connect Platforms section of the Mio Hub.
Adding Mio into your organization’s Google Workspace will allow Mio to sync your spaces with Microsoft Teams channels and provision guest accounts for unlicensed users. The Mio Hub will also be able to detect and act upon any changes made to spaces and user directories in the future.
The following steps should be completed by a Google Workspace Administrator.
In order to connect Mio with your organization’s Google Workspace account, first head over to the Platforms tab of the Mio Hub. This is where you will configure platform settings and import your chat platforms.
To begin, click Connect next to Google Chat.
Return to the Mio Hub to confirm that you’ve configured the rest of the settings from the prior lesson.
Next, click Authorize Mio and complete the OAuth flow.
Now, you will provide Mio with Domain-wide Delegation in the Google Admin Console.
Open the Google Admin Console and add a new API client and authorize with the details provided from the Mio Hub. Once you’ve done so, check the box to confirm you’ve enabled Domain-wide Delegation and click Confirm.
Providing Mio with domain-wide delegation in the Google Admin Console is a crucial part of adding your Google tenant to the Mio Hub. This is necessary in order to sync Google Chat spaces and users for cross-platform messaging with Microsoft Teams.
Mio never requires more permissions than necessary to make the integration function as intended. For a full list of scopes and that are required for the integration, please visit our help article.
If you’ve already connected a platform, navigate to the Platforms tab in the Mio Hub.
Click the three dots next to Google Chat to view settings, re-authenticate the platform, or disconnect the Mio integration from your platform.
It’s important to note that if you disconnect your platform, all channels and users will no longer be enabled for cross-platform messaging.
